Prof. Salome Bukachi

Prof. Salome A. Bukachi is a social/medical anthropologist with over 20 years’ experience working on infectious diseases with a focus on community knowledge and practices in relation to livestock and zoonotic diseases, including the gender issues therein, nutrition anthropology, health systems, socio-economic and cultural/behavioral aspects of infectious diseases and development. She works with various local and international stakeholders in undertaking research and development on anthropological issues. Her main disease focus has been on infectious zoonotic diseases – African trypanosomiasis, Rift Valley fever, brucellosis, among others.
